Personal Adventure Video, starring YOU and YOUR VEHICLE! This is a short promo video.
Aerial HD Helicam by Land Ops
Now your off road event will not only be filmed from off road chase vehicles, but we're taking to the sky. We are currently building two helicam ships. The Align T-REX 600 is the heli of choice to carry the video gear. We're equipping the helicopters with a flight stabilizing system by FMA known as Co-Pilot II since most of our shots will require level flight anyways. By November 2009 Land Ops will launch a new camera ship with a Sony HDR-CX100 full HD (1920 x 1080) on a fixed under body gimbal mount. The events after November 2009 will feature a second camera ship with full retractable landing gear to make way for a 360 degree, 2-axis gimbal camera mount. This 360 degree setup will require two operators; a heli-pilot and a camera operator. We provide both the off road stage and the adventure video.
On camera ship two we are considering the "Mobile Monitor" manufactured by Helicam Solution with live video down link for accurate camera control.

For those of you who have it on your "to-do" list to join us, here's your chance to participate in a unique adventure in the Mojave desert this year. During the Land Ops event this year in November 2009 we will have plenty of video on the ground and in the air. An Align T-REX 600 will carry our Sony full HD video camera to new heights.
This is your chance to get your off road vehicle filmed in action. We'll be conducting progressive geo-caching exercises as well as other navigational and communication projects. Lots of camping in the cool, sweet and beauty California desert.
Check out our calendar of events. Don't be shy...this event is nearly half price and is limited to 15 vehicles. Contact Chris Doering at Land Ops
The type of operations we conduct while exploring the back country are what make Land Ops unique. We are quite different from any four wheel drive club or off-road tour service. A traditional four wheel drive club typically travels progressively in a single file with members that have the same type of vehicles (i.e. Jeeps with Jeeps and Land Cruisers with Land Cruisers, etc...). Traditional tour services may simply take you in and out of certain areas. Land Ops differs greatly because we establish a remote base camp from which we conduct coordinated land maneuvers and exercises with a variety of different vehicles over multiple off-road routes. We explore out 360 degrees from each base camp for several days allowing us to fully appreciate the areas we visit. In some cases the vehicle types may differ so much that multiple base camps need to be established. For example; Participants with toy haulers may not be able to reach a deep inland remote base camp, but may be able to setup on a dry lake bed a number of miles away. Once unloaded their off road vehicles can easily link up for maneuvers deeper inland.
The Land Ops maneuvers allow both experienced and novice off-road drivers to participate at their own level. The success and fun of a Land Ops adventure is based more on adventure planning, coordination, navigation, radio communication and basic team work among participants than on off road driving skills alone.
Bring your own vehicle(s) and join in on our coordinated tactical projects.
